About Me
What do you do?
I'm a self-taught designer, editor and illustrator who specialises in providing bespoke solutions to unique problems. To find out more about my approach, please click here.
When did you start creating?
I've been designing and problem-solving my whole life! With a background in science (I have a BSc degree in Geography from Edinburgh University), I have always loved getting my head round complex information. However, when I left university, I decided that I would rather solve problems through creativity than through lab work or research... and I wanted to finally put my GCSE in graphic design to use! In the years since then, I have worked across multiple industries – from trade exhibitions to corporate law to finance – and have loved all the things I've had the opportunity to learn along the way, both design-related and not!
Who inspires you?
I take inspiration from so many places (my design-themed bookshelf is ever-growing, much to the despair of my husband!) but my current list includes: Terri White, Camille Allen, Annie Atkins, Oliver Jeffers, Ellen Lupton, Steven Pinker, Lee Pollard, Sam Rudd, Flora Baker, Jennie Jacobs, Alice Stevenson, Niamh Purcell, Adam Ceramic, Sue Lewington, Isobel Ross, Chloe Douglass, Marloes de Vries, Clover Robin, Dan Norman, Helen Ridley, Jen Campbell, Tom Gauld, Candace Carson and many more...

Do you work for free?
When it’s a charity where every staff member works for free (artists shouldn’t be the only one volunteering) and it’s a cause that I support, I would be happy to consider working for free. Do get in touch and let’s see what we can do. In other cases: paying someone for their time shows you understand their time is valuable and you respect it. If you feel my work and time should be unpaid I’m afraid we’re not a good match.
Can I use one of your existing illustrations in my work?
If you're interested in using my artwork, please get in touch to discuss arranging a licence. Please let me know what you are going to use it for and what your budget is. If you use my work without my permission, the fee will be much higher because you used my work illegally. You are not permitted to use any of my artwork without my consent.
Do you sell prints or products of your art?
Not yet, but watch this space!
